Bio
Myfanwy Frost-Jones is a visual artist based in County Kerry, working primarily in still and moving image. Her practice explores the relationships between place, history, ecology and cultural identity, often drawing on local landscapes and overlooked histories.
Her research-led practice moves between archives, historical records and the physical landscape. She is interested in the gaps, fragments and biases within historical records, and in how archives shape the stories that are preserved and those that are overlooked.
Frost-Jones’ work considers how landscapes carry traces of human intervention, displacement and change, and how these stories continue to shape our understanding of place. Her practice is grounded in an ongoing engagement with the landscapes and histories of the south-west of Ireland.
She studied Fine Art at Crawford College of Art and Design in Cork and holds an MA in Art Research and Collaboration through IADT and The LAB Gallery, Dublin. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally and has received recognition including the RDS CCI Visual Arts Award, the Parallax Award at Cork International Film Festival, and the inaugural K Visual Storm in a Teacup Prize.
